Make No Provision for the Flesh—The Fight Begins Within
You were born into a war.
This is not clever speech.
This is the greatest battle ever waged. The stakes? Eternal life or eternal death.
This is an ancient war that has been raging on in the spiritual realm since the war in Heaven that was before our time.
Whether you knew it or not, you were enlisted from the moment you were saved. And when you surrendered your life to Christ, you didn’t step into comfort—you stepped onto a battlefield.
Yes, the Lord will comfort you and we have promises of everlasting peace. But in this life there will be tribulation. In this life, on this earth, we have many enemies. We have been offered a suit of armor and a weapon should we choose to use it.
Let us explore this battlefield, our roles in it and how we should fight.
🛡️ The Inner Battle – Flesh vs. Spirit
“For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh…”
– Galatians 5:17
Open your mind to the breadth of this battle. There are many locations where fighting is taking place. But before you ever face the enemy out there, you must secure the territory within. Every soldier must inspect their own gear, shore up weak points, and root out hidden compromises.
The first place this war is fought is inside of you.
You feel it at times, don’t you? The temptation to give up, give in, be comfortable. Your flesh craves to be in control, to lust, be angered and full of pride. But the Spirit within you—God’s own presence—is pulling you in the opposite direction. Toward holiness. Truth. Life.
The war within is real. And it’s relentless. You cannot stay neutral. Every moment is a choice. The Spirit says fight, the flesh says sleep. In every moral decision we make we either serve the Kingdom of light or the Kingdom of darkness.
To be effective in the Kingdom work God has prepared for you—to be a strong soldier in this fight—you must first be willing to work with the Holy Spirit to defeat the enemy within.
Kill the compromise. Silence the flesh. Let the Spirit lead.
Do not be comfortable with or conform to this world. You are the child of The King. So, sons and daughters of God, remember who you are and carry yourself in this way.
Child of light, do not make friends with the darkness. Stop making provision for what seeks to destroy you.
⚔️ A Cosmic War – Light vs. Darkness
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
– Ephesians 6:12
Your personal battle is just one piece of something far bigger.
This war began long before you were born. It started when Lucifer, the brightest of angels, rebelled against God and fell—becoming Satan, the adversary. Since that moment, darkness has waged war against light, death against life, lies against truth.
Behind the veil of our physical world is a spiritual dimension where angels war, demons plot, and principalities clash. You don’t see it—but you’re in it.
When you pray, fast, speak truth, resist temptation, share the gospel—you have an effect on this war.
When you choose to stand in truth, to fast when others feast, to speak light into darkness—you’re not just helping someone or improving yourself. You are affecting the battle lines in the spirit. Demons tremble when a believer resists temptation. Angels are empowered by your obedience. Principalities are pushed back when the gospel is preached. Your life isn’t background noise—it’s front-line combat.
🤝 The Body of Christ – One Body, Many Roles
“Now you are the body of Christ, and individually members of it.”
– 1 Corinthians 12:27
And if we are the generation to see the end of this age, then we are a blessed generation indeed. Not because the days will be easy—but because we will see the King return victorious.
Who wouldn’t want to have works prepared for them by the Lord during this time? To be the generation doing the will of the Father when the day comes that all scripture, all creation, all prophecies have been waiting for. The return of the living God, the creator, the Alpha and Omega in his glory that every eye shall see.
Find me a generation of believers who wouldn’t give everything to be the generation to usher in the arrival of the great I AM.
And my brothers and sisters in Christ, we know that not everyone is called to the front lines.
Not everyone will cast out demons, preach to crowds, or face persecution head-on. The body of Christ is not made up of just one type of soldier.
It’s a body. A family. A unit.
Some will intercede in prayer. Some will encourage the weary. Some will disciple quietly behind the scenes. Others will give, build, write, organize, or teach.
It is and will continue to be—and in the days ahead, must become—an all-out, united effort.
This war requires us all. No deserters. No spectators. We don’t know how many of our brothers and sisters are still in the wilderness. But amid this war one of the tasks bestowed upon us by God is to spread the gospel to all corners of the earth. All those found in the book of life will come to know God and accept Jesus as their savior.
🔥 Divine Support – Heaven Is Moving
Every day, God is at work.
There are testimonies of him showing up in dreams and visions to people across the globe—Muslims, atheists, seekers. Don’t take my word for it, search it for yourself and read about the phenomena that have been happening in the Middle East, in Gaza for example. Groups of hundreds of people reporting Jesus came to them in a dream.
He’s growing seeds planted long ago. Bringing prodigals home.
He’s performing miracles, healing the broken, shaking the nations.
The Holy Spirit is moving. Teaching. Empowering. Equipping.
And the angels? They are not idle.
They guard cities and families. They fight demons and fallen angels in unseen realms. They deliver messages, carry out divine orders, and wage war for the sake of God’s people.
This is more than just spiritual metaphors. This is a campaign from Heaven.
🗡️ Enlist with Purpose
There is no “opt-out” button. There is no demilitarized zone in this fallen world.
You are already in this war.
The only question is—are you fighting?
At times the enemy will attack, you will see the effects of this play out in front of you or feel it directly.
Pray into the spiritual, pray against the demonic forces at work in and around people. Call on Jesus. Be gracious to them, be kind, know that there is an enemy at work behind the deceptions they may believe, their actions or their behavior. Be selfless enough to return peace and forgiveness when you’re wronged. Carry their burdens, be patient and understanding, knowing that this is how your Father in Heaven has treated you.
Recall what I stated earlier. Everyone is either serving and building up the Kingdom of Light or the kingdom of darkness.
I write this to myself more than any other, to address my failings in these areas. We are together in our struggles.
It’s time to armor up. (Ephesians 6:10–18)
Time to pick up your sword, stand your ground, and take your orders from the King.
The world is getting darker. But the light is rising.
Heaven is not asleep. God is not distant.
The host of heaven is on the move—are you?
“Everyone is working. Everyone is fighting. Heaven is on the move—will you join?”
